the online live music gig guide for birmingham & the midlands

Sarcastic Comment

Luke Wassell leads Sarcastic Comment with his unique vocals and guitar skills; this is combined with inimitable bass riffs by Sam Turton, melodic support on guitar by David Matthews and distinctive drum beats from Kieran Lock creating an original first-hand sound best described as New Wave.
The band have received guidance from members of the award winning 80s group Pop Will Eat Itself (Pwei) and Bentley Rhythm Ace. They have also been assisted by the manager of groups ranging from Pwei to Dexys Midnight Runners.

The Midlands based band have been influenced over the three years they have been performing together, by bands ranging from New Wave Radio to Jimmy Eat World and Alkaline Trio. By combining these influences with their own originality they have created music like no other, as they have created their own individual sound.

Sarcastic Comment recorded their current EP named Idiot Proof at Stourbridge College, organized by a head of performing arts and mixed by the bands Music Technology student Luke Wassell.

With a whole host of achievements under their belts, such as supporting idles New Wave Radio at Rock Caf 2000, earning the honor to play on the garden stage at Rock The Castle, Himley Hall 2005 and being the only non local band to perform and gain a significant title at battle of the bands (Robin Hood2) its no doubt they already have a well established fan base.

Though they already have had masses of support and guidance from musician Andrew Fisher, from New Wave Radio Sarcastic Comment could develop even further as a band if they had the same support and guidance from you!
